Overview

The Lake Hamilton Fire Department was first established in 1958. It was the first volunteer firefighting association in Garland County and considered by many as one of the finest in the state.

Lake Hamilton Fire is currently an ISO Class 3.  We are diligently working to lower this rating!

Today, Lake Hamilton Fire Department is an all-hazards fire and rescue department for the Southeast corner of Garland County and parts of Northwest Hot Spring County. Providing fire and rescue services to approximately 70 square miles and over 10,000 citizens every day.

We are the only Fire Department with Fire and Rescue Boats stationed on Lake Hamilton and Lake Catherine!

Chief, Doug Davey

Chief Davey has been with the Fire Department since 1998.

He is a graduate of Henderson State University where he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology with a minor in Criminal Justice in 2005.

He has held positions of Lieutenant, Rescue Division Chief, and Assistant Chief, and has been the Chief since 2018.

Under Chief Davey's command, the Fire Department has lowered its ISO Classification from Class 5 to Class 3.

Prior to becoming the full-time chief he served as NREMT (National Registered Emergency Medical Technician) with LifeNet Hot Springs for many years.
