Service Award (15 Years): Assit. Chief Bill Heck
Firefighter Promotion July 2024
Lake Hamilton Fire was well represented at the 15th Annual Arkansas Fire Boat School at Lake Degray this weekend. Training Officer Chip Shortreed, Lt. Keith Bradley, and FF Cooper Brooks represented us on our new fire boat. Captain Justin Crowe was an instructor at the tanker refill and hose relay scenario and was assisted by Probationary Firefighter Chris Fee. Chief Doug Davey and Asst Chief Bill Heck worked in the command post. As always the crews gained valuable knowledge which will play a crucial role when responding to emergencies on our area lakes.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR COMMITMENT, DEDICATION, AND SERVICE!
Last evening during a regular meeting of the LHFD Board of Commissioners, the Commissioners and Chief Doug Davey took a moment to recognize all of the firefighters who staffed our fire stations during the 4/8/2024 Solar Eclipse by giving each of them a custom-made Solar Eclipse Challenge Coin.
LHFD firefighters logged over 900 hours staffing the stations from Friday, 4/5/2024 through Tuesday, 4/9/2024. Many of our firefighters stayed overnight at Station 2 logging over 84 hours on shift each from Friday to Monday. These fine, professional, volunteer firefighters sacrificed their personal time standing ready to answer the call and respond to the community's needs.
Thank you for what you do for the department and the Lake Hamilton community. We appreciate you!

Over the last two days our Special Operations Division spent almost 20 hours assisting multiple local, state, and federal agencies as well as a private contractor with the emergency response and clean up of a small airplane crash that occurred on Lake Hamilton on June 26, 2023. At the request of the NTSB and the FAA, our divers assisted in locating possible lost items and property that may have fallen out of the aircraft at the time of the accident.
We have an amazing emergency response community in Garland County. With approximately 12 different agencies on scene some might think the scene would be chaotic; however, Garland County is blessed with some of the best emergency service personnel in the State! The teamwork between all agencies involved was second to none!
Our prayers and condolences go out to the friends and families of all the individuals involved.
